Micro Enterprise Development and Informal Sector Support [MEDISS] Programme

Background

The MEDISS Projects seek to assist Micro Entrepreneurs, Informal Sector Workers as well as Individuals with Business Ideas, especially women and the youth, with the tools and support systems needed to achieve desired business and entrepreneurial success. Beneficiaries will also receive entrepreneurial assistance through capacity building programmes, co-working opportunities as well as technical supports. The Programme will help promote the economic, environmental and social development of Ghana. One other objective of the programme is to help contribute to the sustainable development of the sector, and to promote social inclusion in Ghana. The MEDISS will contribute greatly to the ‘Sustainable Development Goal 8’ by ‘promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all’. Full programme content and technical supports to be given will be made know to all beneficiaries during orientation sessions.
‘Certification Ceremony’ for all participants upon successful completion of the programme will be held at Holiday Inn Accra Airport Hotel; a unique occasion of also meeting an Investor Community for possible funding opportunities for both startups and existing micro-enterprises.
